In 1997 Stef Soetewey co-founded Kanakna Productions. It grew to be one of the biggest production companies in Flanders and produced tv shows across different genres; documentary, factual series (Camping, Children's Hospital, Police), travel programs (China/Russia/India/Brasil for beginners) and reality formats (My restaurant rules, The best hobby cook of Flanders, The Block, Temptation Island... ).
Kanakna also developed and/or produced big adventure reality formats such as Survivor, Peking Express, Mercator, Oberon and Mission Amazon. Later on Kanakna also ventured into the shiny floor genre with ao So You Think You Can Dance and scripted programs with Vijfhoek and Duts.
In 2007 Kanakna was acquired by the television group Zodiak Media and it's name changed to Zodiak Belgium. Stef stayed on board for another five years as the CEO but left the company in 2012. In September 2014 he embarked on a new adventure and founded 100.000Volts.TV.
100.000Volts.TV is a hundred percent Flemish story, a 'Boutique Production Company' with the ambition to deliver 4 to 5 shows a year. The primal focus is on those genres that are in Stef's field of expertise: documentary series, factual series, reality, entertainment, lifestyle and scripted.
Stef is returning to his roots; MD of 100.000Volts.TV, responsible for and actively participating in the development and production of all programs.
